Nobody likes when another person mentions their ex (especially on a first date!!!) and most of the women see through such a petty manipulation. Mentioning mom on your first date... tacky and sad- mama's boy warning alarm (don’t you have better topics to discuss than boy scouts, ex boyfriends/girlfriends and your mom?)

I question why anyone would show up for a 1st date hungover. If a man did that to me it would be a huge red flag & cause me to bolt for the nearest exit. I agree about dressing appropriately. I've been on 1st dates where it does appear the man put zero effort into his appearance & it's a major turnoff. First impressions count. As for mentioning exes & still being friendly...not a good plan. No one wants to hear about your past on a 1st date nor do they want to know it's actually still part of your present even if it is true. Only when a relationship is solidly established should you perhaps let that out of the "closet". I know from past experience. That's my two cents.
