All hotels are sexy, even chain hotels and $40-a-night, side-of-the-road motels.

You know, the ones where you get your "continental breakfast" out of a machine. There's just something about staying in a strange room that opens us up to thinking about sex differently, whether we're in that room with an anonymous stranger, long-term partner or somebody else's partner.

Fittingly, an ever increasing number of hotels across North America are going far beyond just providing a bed in which to misbehave. Many fine establishments are offering kinky extras to help couples (and threesomes and whatever else) have a rocking good time.

Sexy room services
Besides offering a sexy environment in terms of room design, Toronto's The Drake Hotel has a special black leather bound room service menu to entice it's patrons in to taking a walk on the wild side. Included in the menu are a range of pleasure packs; the most basic containing condoms, lube, a "pleasure feather" tickler and a mini-vibe, while the high-end version contains all that plus a 24-carat gold vibrator and black silk scarf. The Drake's "Pleasure Menu" also contains a huge range of erotica and porno movies to rent or buy.

Ana Yuristy, manager of The Drake, says that this carefully curated collection of toys and movies has proven very popular since it was introduced back on Valentine's Day 2005. "The inspiration behind these pleasure packs is the history of going to a hotel as an escape, and that a certain sense of romance, fantasy, anonymity and privacy comes with that."

The Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles, CA, offers more than liquor in the mini-bar. Tucked in next to the vodka and M&Ms are pleasure packs containing condoms, lube, a couples ring, massage oil and a pocket vibrator. The Mondrian used to have a hotel store that sold all manner of marital aides, but this recently closed and is being replaced by a vending machine that will contain objects for adult fun (among other things).

Guests at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, are able to order up lingerie, paddles, whips, lotions, toys and all manner of sensual treats from the special room service menu from in-hotel erotic store Love Jones. If you want to shop before retiring to your rented boudoir, the actual store is open late (until 1 a.m. on weekends), so there's plenty of time to pick something up after hitting the casino.

Themed rooms
If role-play is your idea of heaven, then a themed room could serve as the perfect venue for your erotic escapades. Ranging from classy (ish) to trashy, there are a number of establishments offering specially appointed rooms.
