Cooking With a Naked Flame

Liz recommended that I cook fully clothed both to avoid the splatter of hot sauces and unintentional hair in food -- yikes! If you do decide to cook naked, be sure to wear an apron to protect against said splatters. And serve food without the potential to splatter your guests, for obvious reasons.

Taking it all Off

When it was time for dinner, all of the guests privately disrobed and came to the table wrapped in a towel that they had brought with them. The towel is important as it gives everyone something cushy to sit on throughout the evening. I chose to light the table in flattering candlelight. For Susan this was a moment of sheer terror.

"I kept wondering if my boobs would be as perky as the other women and if my body would jiggle in places I didn't want," she admitted later. The guys were unanimous in pronouncing their number one fear -- penis size. Said Jack, "It really puts you on the spot with the women at the party and the dumb thing is that it isn't related at all to the size of your erection. But, I was still afraid I might lose out on an opportunity with one of them because of it." Speaking of erections, none happened although that seemed to be the second most dominant fear among the men.

Anyway, we raised our glasses and toasted. Then on the count of three, dropped the towels. Awkward? Oh yeah. Embarrassing? You bet. Exhilarating? That too. "At first I had no idea where to look," said Emma, "I was desperately holding onto people's eyes to avoid seeing their body."

As the libations continued, however, people started to relax into it and even flirt. It's amazing how nudity breaks down the barriers we otherwise construct around ourselves. Without clothing that says you're funky/rich/tasteful/sexy you have to rely more on what's inside to convey who you are. That's not to say there wasn't any primping for the naked portion of the party. Taking a poll we discovered that all eight of us had trimmed or shaven before coming; six had hit the gym that day; two visited the tanning booth; five were wearing body make up of some sort, and three had affixed temporary body art.

After dinner, we kept on drinking and the flirting was going like mad. I had enacted a no-sex rule in the house so people slowly drifted away into the night. If you want an orgy, I'm sure the naked dinner would be a good start but it just wasn't my thing. And in answer to the burning question on your minds, yes there were some hook ups. Two, to be precise, but my lips are sealed.

Hosting Your Own

Would I do it again? I think so. It really was exhilarating and I found that we were able to share an intimacy otherwise lacking in normal social interaction. Also, it's a great way to see people naked. I'll give the final word to Randy, who called me the next day to thank me for convincing him to attend.
